I have an older Sharp AQUOS TV. Model is LC-46SV50U. I just bought the Sharp sound bar model number: HT-SB30D. I have the sound bar connected to the cable box via the optical cable and the tv connected to the sound bar via the analog cable. I have the Chromecast in HDMI 1. When not using the sound bar the chromecast plays fine and sound is heard. When using the cable box and the sound bar the sound is heard. My problem lies when casting content from any platform to the TV I can not get the sound to go over the sound bar. I do not believe my TV can pass the sound signal from Chromecast to the sound bar due to it being several years old. I am thinking a 'ViewHD Premium HDMI to HDMI + Audio (SPDIF + RAC L/R) Audio Extractor | Converter | VHD-H2HSAs' might work but before I drop the next 35-50$ on an audio extractor I was wondering if anyone else had a different workaround to this problem and if not has anyone tried extracting the audio from Chromecast and how did it work? Thanks!
